Privacy

Contractual purposes. We will use our members’ personal information to provide you with member notices and news, including an invite to the AGM and EGM. We will use participant personal information to organise activities and other training events.e

Legitimate purposes. We also process our members’ personal information in pursuit of our legitimate interests to:

  • Send our CHE newsletter.
  • Engage with you on subjects relevant to human ecology, including obtaining your views in surveys for research purposes, informing you of events and requesting your involvement in activities related to our purpose.
  • Promote human ecology by offering courses, workshops, seminars and other events.
  • Raise awareness of human ecology and our work by capturing photos, videos and live-streaming at events. We will use this for promotion, education and development purposes.
  • Respond to your questions, comments, support needs, complaints or concerns.

Legal obligations. We are under a legal obligation to process certain personal information relating to our members for the purposes of complying with obligations under:

  • The Companies Act 2006 to maintain a register of our members, which includes name, address, date admitted to membership and date on which membership ceased, and hold general meetings, including issuing notices and AGM voting arrangements.
  • The Equality Act 2010, which requires us to process personal information to make reasonable adjustments where necessary.

Equality monitoring. We use aggregated and anonymised reports of personal information relating to sex, gender, disability, ethnic group, religion for equality monitoring purposes, enabling us to evaluate and promote equality of opportunity.

Other uses of your personal information. We may ask you if we can process your personal information for other purposes. Where we do so, we will provide you with an additional privacy notice explaining how we will use your information for these purposes.
