General info

CHE has developed its membership structure to be more reflective of the different types of membership it offers and the privileges and responsibilities of each type. We have used a basic eco-system as an analogy to describe the ‘closeness’ or relationship of each membership type to the core work and running of CHE.

The day-to-day activities of CHE are carried out by a core staff team of ‘Soil’ co-op members. Soil members act as incubators for CHE, providing the groundwork for the other activities CHE offers. They contribute to the direction of CHE through attending members meetings and AGMs. At present, these members are Svenja Meyerricks and Rebecca Livesey-Wright.

Growing from the soil we have our ‘Plant’, or student members. This type includes all current learners and alumni of CHE. They have access to the members section on the website, receive regular updates through our CHE members newsletter, have access to the CHE library and contribute to the direction of CHE through attending members meetings and our AGMs.

Providing light and guidance are the ‘Sun’ members, our researchers and freelance workers and elders actively involved in our work.  The Sun members help us to deliver CHE’s vision, and they also contribute to the direction of CHE through attending members meetings and AGMs, They have access to the members section on the website, receive regular updates through our CHE members newsletter, and have access to the CHE library.

Providing CHE with tangible and intangible resources are our ‘Rain’ members. These are our nurturers, financial supporters and elders, providing us with wisdom and the continued means to support ourselves. Rain members too have access to the members section on the website, access to the CHE library and the CHE members newsletter, and contribute to the direction of CHE through attending members meetings and AGMs.
